Modern Companies is looking to add a Mechanical Project Manager to our growing team! We offer flexible hours, great benefits, and a supportive environment!

A Project Manager supports the management of all activities related to assigned projects. The position carries the responsibility to ensure that the project is completed effectively within cost, schedule, quality and safety parameters.

  • Lead projects

  • Define and manage project scope, timeline, budget, manpower, risks and profitability

  • Lead project team by identifying roles and responsibilities and driving accountability

  • Deliver consistent communication to project team and external customers

  • Visit project sites on a scheduled, recurring basis

  • Ensure foreman and crew have resources needed to successfully perform the work

  • Manage project data, financials, and documentation

  • Partner with the Project Coordinator to accurately and effectively manage data, financials, and documentation

  • Utilize and maintain project information in PM system (ex. budgets, phase codes, invoicing, etc.)

  • Approve accounts payable, manage accounts receivable, and submit change orders in a timely, urgent fashion

  • Utilize and maintain project folder standard set-up

  • Document and capture required project documentation (ex. transmittals, submittals, requests for information, customer communication, etc.

  • Maintain Works in Progress data and execute monthly WIP meetings

  • Build customer relationships

  • Understand currently assigned customers and project pipeline

  • Engage in regular interactions with customers and bring customers to Modern Piping throughout the year

  • Collaborate with internal teams

  • Ensure milestone meetings (turnover, kick-off, progress, close-out meetings) held for each project

  • Foster a proactive communication and collaboration environment with all team members

  • Drive project safety

  • Ensure safety program is properly implemented on each job site with assigned foreman

  • Report any safety incidents no later than 24 hours of incident and implement mitigation plans to avoid repeats

  • Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Construction Management or Construction, Mechanical, Civil or General Engineering degree preferred and/or completion of a qualified Mechanical apprenticeship program

  • Experience in the mechanical contracting industry is preferred, but not required
